Maya Karin provide support to the OKUs in Kelantan

KOTA BHARU, April 30 – Actor and singer homeland, Maya Karin will provide support for the Disabled Foundation Kelantan (YOKUK) to help the country in this respect in the program in July.

YOKUK executive director Datin Suliana Shamsuddin said Maya Karin YOKUK selected to be an ambassador since 2011, will soon celebrate Carnival YOKUK20 on July 20 after 20 years of the foundation was established in Kelantan.

“Carnival will provide an opportunity for both disabled people and able to participate in recreational activities that promote a healthy lifestyle for all groups, especially children and adolescents,” she said.

She was speaking to reporters after attending the launch of YOKUK20 Carnival 2019 (amp) ‘Wheel With Me’ at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) today attended by Maya Karin.

At the ceremony, Maya Karin has signed up as the first participant to be part of the show ‘Wheel With Me’ which is the race for all the disabled or able to ride a wheelchair around the stadium mini USM at the carnival later in addition to creating awareness about the use of a wheelchair.
Suliana said race participation is not only open to those who are in this country, but also throughout the country and those who want to participate can visit the link until July 6 for registration.

Meanwhile, Maya Karin said the idea of the carnival is a unique program that can provide a different experience to the non-disabled as well as educate the public so as not to marginalize people with disabilities.

Up to now YOKUK provides approximately 5,000 registered customers for free.

YOKUK also provides a wide range of therapy services, welfare, vocational training, as well as palliative care for people living at home and also teaches family members of these groups on how to take care of the disabled and perform simple therapy. – BERNAMA
